About me...

I'm fascinated by the fact that as useless as my site is, here you are, reading what I have to say about myself... As strange as that is you're here, so I guess I should actually write something to pass the time eh?

For starters, I am living in Calgary Alberta, Canada (for you Americans, that's in the country directly NORTH of you! (Click here if your confused). Do I like it here? No!! I could go into thousands of reasons why I hate it here, but for my own sanity, let's just not get into that right now. Like most people, I also have a meaningless job id rather not be doing, but the money is good and we all need to eat occasionally eh? On the positive side, I've just recently bought my own townhouse and am slowly renovating it room by room (If your REALLY bored you can see pictures in the Gallery). It's taking a while, but I don't really have anything else to do so I don't mind. I am also looking into moving to Australia permanently for a much needed change. I have visited there twice now, and if all goes well, a third time fairly soon here. This time when I go it will be mainly to talk to the Australian Immigration Department, as well as looking into living arrangements and job opportunities. Then after that, ill take a few weeks of sitting on the beach, feeding kangaroos and snorkelling around the barrier reef!

So aside from work, and hating Cana-duh, what else is there... well, most weekends I'm involved in a sport called Airsoft. It's basically like paintball, without the paint. The picture of me above is not of me in the military; it's actually of me on the field during a game of Airsoft. As you can see we use replicas of real equipment in use by modern military forces around the world. The guns shoot plastic pellets instead of paintballs which travel further and twice as fast. Games are usually based around "real life" situations, such as rescuing injured personnel, disarming replica explosives within a given timeframe, or even escorting a convoy of vehicles and protecting a V.I.P. I'm always asked why I do it, and the answer is simple. I enjoy it. Where else can you ride around 200 acres of forest shooting machine guns attached to vehicles and helicopters dressed in full military gear while people are trying to stop you from completing your objective? Maybe it's a guy thing I guess, who knows.

Lastly, in my spare time during the week, and over the winter when Airsoft is not being held, I enjoy graphic design as well as PC games in general. A while ago I did some contract work for a few major retail games including Half-Life – (Counter Strike), Half-Life 2, Unreal Tournament, Medal of Honour: Allied Assault, Day of Defeat, IL-2 Strumovik, Lock On, and a few others. Now though, I have more or less just kept to smaller web page design on the side to keep myself busy.

As you can see I'm a fairly boring person really... the fact that it's like 3am and I work tomorrow isn't helping any either, so I'm going to have to call it a night.

Later...
